SOLDOTNA POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE

September 19, 2019

**ANY CHARGES REPORTED IN THESE PRESS RELEASES ARE MERELY ACCUSATIONS

AND THE DEFENDANTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNLESS AND UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY**

 

On 9/2/19 about 6:55 p.m., an off duty Soldotna police officer witnessed a male stealing items from Bishop’s Attic. An officer responded and contacted the male, Gregory Saathoff, 52, of Soldotna. Saathoff was issued a criminal citation for theft in the fourth degree and released. The stolen items were returned to Bishop’s Attic.

 

On 9/9/19 at 3:16 a.m., Soldotna police stopped a vehicle near Mile 92 Sterling Highway. Andrew Oldenburg, 48, of Sterling, was arrested for driving while license revoked, driving without liability insurance and violating his court ordered conditions of release. Oldenburg was taken to Wildwood and held without bail. His vehicle was impounded.

 

On 9/12/19 at 2:30 p.m., Soldotna police stopped a vehicle on the Sterling Highway near Kobuk Street after the vehicle nearly caused a collision. The 16-year-old male driver from Kasilof was issued citations for a driver’s license violation and being in possession of an electronic smoking device. A passenger, Jason Koontz, 18, of Kasilof, was found to be in possession of THC oil. Koontz was issued a criminal citation for misconduct involving a controlled substance in the sixth degree and released.

 

On 9/14/19 at 4:35 a.m., Soldotna police responded to the area of K-Beach Road and Home Run Circle for a disturbance. Officers contacted Mira Nash, 21, of Kenai, who was intoxicated and in violation of her court ordered conditions of release. Nash was arrested for the violation and taken to Wildwood without bail.

 

On 9/18/19 about 11:00 p.m., Soldotna police responded to a residence on Sohi Lane for a disturbance. Investigation led to Christopher Embury, 56, of Soldotna, and Amy Mason, 47, of Soldotna, being issued criminal citations for criminal mischief in the fourth degree and disorderly conduct and released.
