City of Soldotna Special Election

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Soldotna will conduct a Special Municipal Election on Tuesday, December 17, 2019. The Special Election has been called for the purpose of electing the following official:

City Mayor:  To be elected by the qualified voters of the City of Soldotna.
                      One, to be elected for partial term ending October 2020

VOTER QUALIFICATIONS: A qualified voter is a person who is a citizen of the United States, is at least 18 years of age, has been a resident of the State of Alaska and the City of Soldotna for at least 30 days immediately preceding the election; and is registered to vote in state elections at a residence address within the city at least 30 days before the city election.

POLLING PLACE: Soldotna City Hall, 177 North Birch Street, Soldotna, Alaska

POLLING HOURS: The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day

ABSENTEE VOTING: Any qualified voter may vote an absentee ballot for the precinct in which he/she resides and is registered. Absentee voting in person begins December 2, 2019 at Soldotna City Hall, 177 N. Birch Street, Soldotna, Alaska. Absentee Ballot Applications are available at City Hall or may be downloaded here: Absentee Ballot Application. Applications for Absentee by Mail Ballots must be received no later than December 10, 2019 and applications for Electronic Transmission Ballots must be received no later than December 16, 2019. If you are unable to go to your polling place because of an illness or disability you may apply for a special needs ballot. For additional information, contact the City Clerk at 907-262-9107.
