Soldotna City Council

The Soldotna City Council will conduct a public hearing on June 10, 2020 on the following resolution(s) and ordinance(s):

Resolution 2020-027 – Authorizing the Issuance and Sale of Not to Exceed $8,500,000 Revenue Bonds (Hope Community Resources, Inc. Project) Series 2020; the Execution and Delivery of Other Documents Necessary or Convenient to Carry Out the Terms Hereof; and Providing for Related Matters (City Manager)

Ordinance 2020-013 – Suspending Restrictions on Council Attendance by Teleconference as Established in Soldotna Municipal Code 2.04.010(D) (L. Parker)

Ordinance 2020-014 – Increasing Estimated Revenues and Appropriations by $7,376,315.80 in a Newly Established COVID-19 Cares Act Relief Special Revenue Fund for Grant Funds Provided by the State of Alaska, Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development (DCCED) for Expenditures Incurred Due to the Public Health Emergency with Respect to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) (City Manager)

Ordinance 2020-015 – Amending Soldotna Municipal Code Title 4 Regarding City Elections to Provide for Vote by Mail Elections, for More Time Between a Regular Election and Run-Off Election, and to Provide Procedures for Verifying Candidate Qualification (City Clerk) Postponement Memorandum

Ordinance 2020-016 – Adopting the Budget and Establishing Appropriations for the Fiscal Year Beginning July 1, 2020 and Ending June 30, 2021 (City Manager) FY2021 Proposed Annual Operating Budget

Emergency Ordinance 2020-017 – Extending Certain Provisions of the Disaster Emergency Declared for the City of Soldotna on March 19, 2020 in Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic (City Manager)

City Council meetings commence at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chamber, 177 N. Birch St., Soldotna, Alaska. City Council meetings are broadcast live via the City’s website. To listen, go to soldotna.org/government/listen-to-meetings

Participating during COVID-19: While in-person testimony will be taken during the Regular and Special meetings of the City Council, due to the limited space in Council Chambers, all interested persons are encouraged to participate telephonically or to submit written comments in advance of the meeting. Persons who wish to submit written comments may send comments to council@soldotna.org, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at 907-262-9107 for details on how to call in during the meeting..

 

Planning and Zoning Commission

There are currently no public hearings scheduled for the Soldotna Planning and Zoning Commission.

Planning & Zoning Commission meetings begin at 5:30 pm in the City Hall Council Chamber, 177 N. Birch St., Soldotna.

Participating during COVID-19: While in-person testimony will be taken during Regular and Special meetings, due to the limited space in Council Chambers, written comments or telephonic participation is recommended. All interested persons are encouraged to participate telephonically in the public discussion or to submit written comments. Written comments may be sent to the Planning & Zoning Commission, c/o Jennifer Hester, 177 North Birch Street, Soldotna, AK 99669 or emailed to jhester@soldotna.org.
